Janna Bystrykh
Janna Bystrykh is an architect and researcher based in Rotterdam. Janna’s experience extends to design and implementation of complex urban projects, museum transformations, experimental educational efforts, and more recently installations on the transformations of rural and natural landscapes.
As Associate at AMO/OMA (2010-2018) Janna led the Small Hermitage and Tretyakov Museum transformations, helped launch the Strelka education program and the Countryside research project, including the Harvard GSD Rotterdam studios, culminating in the 2020 Countryside exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum.
Janna has been connected to Wageningen University, TU Delft, The Berlage, Harvard GSD among others. She also regularly acts as visiting critic at educational institutions at home and abroad.
Since January 2022, she is head of the Master’s Programme in Architecture, at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, where she is leading the development of a climate focused curriculum for architecture.
Janna is part of the 2024 International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) curatorial team.
